Sustainable Building Advisor Program


Improve your skills in a rapidly growing field. Gain an understanding of current sustainability performance standards. Reduce long term costs and liability for building owners, operators and tenants. Improve the environmental, social and economic viability of the region. Reduce environmental impacts.

OVERVIEW

Expert instructors present materials through interactive formatted classes with hands-on exercises, readings, field trips and numerous resources.

Participants learn how to:

  • Identify and articulate key sustainable building practices
  • Apply LEED, Build Green and other relevant criteria or established guidelines
  • Analyze costs and benefits of incorporating sustainable building measures
  • Establish a sustainable design goal for project development
  • Take advantage of financial incentives and technical assistance offered by governments, utilities and non-profit organizations.

INSTRUCTOR

Lead instructor is Elizabeth Powers.  She is a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA), a LEED Accredited Professional, and is in the final stages of a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture at University of Washington.
